Desperate For God

Since the fall of Adam there has been a desperation implanted within the hearts of man, and that desperation is for God. Many a person suffers at the hand of this desperation, within them being the feeling of incompleteness and/or need of something bigger then self. Nevertheless, these feelings shall remain until one finds a being who fits into both categories, one who is both bigger than self, and completes not only you but all of humanity. A being such as the Lord God, Jehovah, who just happens to be the only One who truly fits within those categories.

Humanity was originally intended to live in harmony with God, and He gave us a single and simple command, “but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Genesis 2:17). And as humanity does more frequently then not, we failed at that, thus we were cursed. “ ‘Unto the woman’ he said, ‘I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.’ And unto Adam he said, ‘Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field: in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return’ ” (Genesis 3:16-19).  And due to the sin of humanity, and it alone is our desperation, for if we never sinned we’d still be in harmony with God.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). The only way to satisfy this desperation is via the blood of Christ. There is no one else and no other way. Christ was sent to die, once and for all who would accept, as well as He accepts them also. “For Christ died for sins once and for all, a good man on behalf of sinners, in order to lead you to God. He was put to death physically, but made alive spiritually” (1 Peter 2:18). Christ is who can satisfy this desperation, for the only way to satisfy desperation for God is to be with God, in a relationship with Him that can only be obtained through the blood of Christ.
